INDEPENDENT CONTRACTORS EXEMPTION CERTIFICATE After January 1st, 2009, contractors will be obligated to verify that workers with whom they enter into aggreements as independent subcontractors have a current ICEC. For purposes of state workers' compensation, unemployment insurance, wage and hour and occupational safety and health laws.
